A PRAYER OF SALVATION

Father God, I love You. I come to You today in faith asking You to forgive my sins. Jesus, I believe in You, I believe You died on the cross for me, You shed your innocent blood for me, You took my place and all the punishment that I deserved. I believe You died and were buried and on the third day You rose from the

A NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT YOURSELF

Image
How do you see yourself? Your self-image is like a photo you carry in the wallet of your heart. I have discovered through many years of ministering to people that most of them don’t like themselves very much. I had a very bad relationship with myself for many years and it was poisoning everything in my life. God loves you and He wants you to

A NEW WAY OF TALKING

hWords are containers for power. They carry either creative or destructive power. At the beginning of time, when God spoke, He created good things, and we should follow His example.

DON’T WORRY OR BE ANXIOUS

Worry and anxiety are two forms of thinking that are bad. Worry does no good at all, but it can do a lot of harm. Replace all your worry with trusting God to take care of your Problems. Worry makes you look older than you are gives you headaches and stomach problems, and even makes you hard to get along with. It is not God’s will for your life. Not worrying may be difficult at first because you are accustomed To taking care of yourself and figuring out what You should do next, but remember that you are now learning a new way to live. People who don’t have a relationship with God may feel They have to worry, but you don’t. God is on your side, and He says that you can cast your care on Him and He will take Care of you (1 Peter 5:7). Anxiety means that we are spending today worrying about tomorrow. Jesus said not to do that because each day has sufficient trouble of its own (Matthew 6:34). You will know what to do when the time comes to do it, but you ...

YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS

Perhaps you are like I once was and think you can’t do anything about what you think. That is not correct. You can choose what you will or will not think about, and you should do so carefully. Where the mind goes the man follows. We have all had the experience of beginning to think about something to eat. Perhaps ice cream, a donut, or some other tempting food. The more we think about it, the more determined we become that we must have it. If we think about it long enough, we may even get into the car and drive several miles to get it, only to be sorry later that we ate it and wasted our time and money getting it. If someone has wronged us and we think over and over about what they did that hurt us, we can feel ourselves getting angry and emotionally upset. Our thoughts affect our emotions and become words that we speak.

SEEK GOD’S PRESENCE, NOT HIS PRESENTS

God wants to do good things for you. He wants to give you many blessings, but it is important that you seek Him for who He is and not merely what He can do for you. God is wonderful beyond comparison, and being in His presence is amazing. As you seek His face, you will fi nd that His hand is always open. If you only seek His hand it will insult Him. No one, not even God, wants to be used for someone’s personal advantage. Ask God for anything you want or need and if it is best for you, in His timing, He will give it to you. But always remember that, more than anything else, you need more of Him in

BEING BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

To baptize means to completely submerge. Anything that is submerged is fi lled if there is an opening in it. If you are open, you can be completely fi lled with the Holy Spirit. You received the Holy Spirit when you received Jesus as your Savior, but you may not have been at a point where you were ready to open up every room in your heart and let Him completely fill you. You have the Holy Spirit, but you want to be sure that He has all of you. God wants to use you in His service, and You will need the power of His Spirit to be successful and Productive. God also offers us supernatural gifts (endowments of supernatural Energy) to help us live our daily lives. The gifts

COMMITMENT

Being committed is very important. It is not what we did wrong once that got our lives into such a mess, it was what we did wrong consistently. And doing something right once or twice won’t help us live the new life God has for us. We must persevere and do what we know we should do even when we don’t feel like doing it. We must be consistent. God has given you a spirit of self-control and discipline (2 Timothy 1:7) and all you need to do is exercise it. Be committed to spending time with God. Study His Word and read books that help you understand the Bible even better. Listen to teaching tapes and CDs or watch good Christian television programming. Take time for prayer. Learn to pray your way through the day. Remember, God is interested in everything that concerns you, and prayer is simply con versation with God. As you grow as a Christian, you will learn not only how to talk to God but how to hear from Him as well, and it will add an exciting dimension to your walk with Him. Another...

GOING TO CHURCH

Another thing I highly recommend is participation in a local church family. Going to church does not make one a Christian any more than sitting in my garage would make me a car. We don’t become Christians simply by virtue of going to church, but if we are Christians we should want to worship God and fellowship with other believers. Church is also a place where we learn God’s Word.  Not all churches are good churches. Some are religious edifi ces that look good on the outside, but there is nothing going on inside that will really help anybody. If you attend a church that is not feeding you God’s Word and challenging you to grow daily in your walk with God, keep looking until you fi nd one. Churches, like doctors, are not all good; but, they are not all bad either. You just need to fi nd the one that is right for you. Some people prefer a larger church and some a smaller one. Some have one denominational preference over another, and then there are those who prefer a nondenomination...

A NEW WAY OF LIVING

have you enter your new life that is to be lived by, with, and for God, you will fi nd that many of His principles seem upside-down from the world’s ways. Actually, it is the world that is upside-down and God’s Kingdom that is right side up. We are not accustomed to doing things God’s way, and at fi rst they may seem diffi cult or hard to understand. Baptism One of the fi rst things you should do as a new believer in Jesus Christ is be baptized in water. Baptism is an outward sign of your inner decision to follow Christ. When a person goes under the waters of baptism, it signifi es burying the old life. When they are lifted out of the water it signifi es the resurrection of a new life. It is something we do in obedience to God.

the corner there and down the alley, and it is awful cold. It sure would be nice to have a warm place to stay.” The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, “Well, I’ll tell you what to do, you go down the street to that big white house and knock on the door. When they come out of the door, just say, ‘John 3:16’ and they will let you in.” So the boy did. He walked up the steps to the door and knocked, and a lady answered. He looked up and said, “John 3:16.” The lady said, “Come on in.” She took him in, sat him down in a split-bottom rocker in front of a great big fi replace, and left. He sat there for a while and thought to himself, John 3:16—I don’t understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm. Later she came back and asked him, “Are you hungry?” He said, “Well, just a little. I haven’t eaten in a couple of days, and I guess I could stand a little bit of food.” The lady took him into the kitchen and sat him down at a table full of wonderful food, and he ate and ate unti...

IT IS TIME FOR SURRENDER

hYou have either already received Christ and have requested this book to help you begin your new life with Christ, or you have been given this book and hopefully are ready to make that decision now. John 3:16 says: (KJV) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Let me share a story that will help you understand the power of that verse. In the city of Chicago one cold, dark night, a blizzard was setting in. A little boy was selling newspapers on the corner. People were inside out of the cold, and the little boy was so cold that he really wasn’t trying to sell many papers. He walked up to a policeman and said, “Mister, you wouldn’t happen to know where a poor boy could fi nd a warm place to sleep tonight, would you? You see, I sleep in a box up around

GUILT AND CONDEMNATION

Guilt is the constant companion of the sinner. He may do various things to ignore it, but down deep inside he knows his life is not right. Jesus said sinners are unable to escape the guilt (John 9:41). The Bible is divided into the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is just that, it is “old.” It represents an Old Covenant, one that God used to cover the sins of the people until the time came for Jesus to These scriptures are fearsome, but they need not strike fear in the heart of a sincere believer in Jesus Christ. Those who believe in Jesus shall never come up for judgment or condemnation (John 3:18).

A N E W Way O F L I V I N G

And I will bring distress upon men, so that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord; their blood shall be poured out like dust and their fl esh like dung. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s indignation and wrath. But the whole earth shall be consumed in the fi re of His jealous wrath, for a full, yes, a sudden, end will He make of all the inhabitants of the earth. —ZEPHANIAH 1:17-18

SIN BRINGS A CURSE

God’s Word says our sin will fi nd us out (Numbers 32:23). Sin brings a curse and obedience brings blessing (Deuteronomy 28). It may appear for a season that a person is getting by with their sin. Their life seems to be as good as anyone else’s, but in the end there will always be evidence of the choices they have made. When we choose a life of sin, rather than a life of obedience to God, we experience misery in our souls. Man is more than a body made of fl esh and bones. He is a spirit and he has a soul which is comprised of mind, will and emotions. It is the personality of man. Sinners suffer in their mind. They are fi lled with mental anguish, and no matter what they do or possess, there is nothing that completely satisfi es them. They suffer emotionally. Since they have chosen to run their own lives, they become frustrated and angry (emotionally upset) when things don’t go their way. They know nothing of the way of faith. Trusting God—a power greater than themselves— is incompreh...

The Bible Is A Witness of Jesus

2 Peter 1 :16-18 16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” 18 And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

GOD IS HOLY

Image
This is one very outstanding nature of God. Sin makes god unhappy and angry. God’s eyes are too holy to behold iniquity. To live a life that makes God angry Is like a child living a rebellious and disobedient life to his/her parents. Proverbs 17:25 says “a foolish son is a grief to his father and bitterness to her that bare him”

IS GOD HAPPY WITH YOUR LIFESTYLE?

Only every few people are aware of the fact that our daily lives have on earth had eternal consequences. God is the creator of all people and he is the owner of everything under earth. He is particularly concerned about human beings because he created us in his own image. A man is created to live forever once born.

We believe according to scriptures

We believe according to scriptures that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, and that is why he did yesterday as contained in the Bible, he is still doing today-heb. 13:8 The presence of God in the midst of His people is always validated by signs, wonders and diverse miracles-Zeph. 3:17

OUTLIVE THE SUN

Do you know that you will outlive the sun? Do you know that when the earth and the stars have all pass away; you will just be beginning your endless day-a time without end? Once you are born, you will never cease to live, you will live forever. You will be alive eternally. Eternity has no end. This is a solemn and fearful truth.

Principle 4: Give Generously

“Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God that he has given you.” Deuteronomy 16:17 God instructs us to give generously. And the Bible is filled with examples of people who gave, even when they had little. Remember the widow who gave to Elijah? (1 Kings 17:7-16) Or the woman who gave less than a penny? (Mark 12:41-44) The world tempts us to hoard money or to spend it all on ourselves. But scripture teaches us to be generous by giving to those who are in need. The Bible has much more to say about money. The Bible also has much to say about marriage, family, children, work, and relationships. God’s Word is filled with truth which paves a way for us. It is our hope you will consider studying the Bible with us. We invite you to meditate on God’s Word. World Bible School offers lessons designed to introduce you to the Bible. And we match every student with a Christian study helper to guide you and pray for you.

Principle 3: Pay Your Taxes

One day some men tried to trick Jesus. They asked him if it was right to pay taxes. They wanted Jesus to say something incriminating. Instead, Jesus replied wisely: “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” Mark 12:17 Jesus knew the Roman government was oppressive and often without justice. Yet he advised those in earshot to pay taxes. You should do the same.

Principle 2: Beware of Debt

Do you love money? Is money more important to you than people? Is your time consumed with thoughts about money? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, take some time to reflect. Why do you care so much about money, and what are you going to do to change?

Principle 1: Love God and People, Not Money

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” Psalm 1:1-2 Through these words, God promises blessings to the one who will meditate on the Bible. And the Bible is full of teachings on money. If you desire financial wisdom, there is no better place to start than the Word of God. The Bible has much to say on the topic of money. But we want to highlight a few important principles which may be helpful to you today.
